Buckit! Just Live Courageously serves adults facing non-curable cancer.
Generally, this refers to cancer that is considered incurable, metastatic, stage IV, recurrent, or otherwise life-limiting. Every situation is unique and applications are reviewed individually.
Experiences are tailored to each recipient. Wishes may include travel, attending a special event, reconnecting with loved ones, outdoor adventures, family experiences, or other meaningful goals.
We do not provide cash gifts, pay personal bills, purchase vehicles, fund home improvements, provide medical treatments, or purchase medical equipment.
No. Many recipients are actively receiving treatment while planning and participating in their experience.
We understand that meaningful experiences often involve loved ones. Family participation is considered whenever appropriate and feasible for the experience being planned.
No. There is never a cost to apply or participate in a Buckit!JLC experience.
Experiences are funded through donations, sponsorships, fundraising events, grants, and the generosity of community partners.
Every experience is different. Some can be planned relatively quickly, while others require additional coordination. We work as efficiently as possible while ensuring each experience is thoughtfully arranged.
Yes. Friends, family members, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and others may nominate someone they believe would benefit from a meaningful experience.
